Italian Mondays

Can I just tell you how much I love having Italian Mondays....I am blessed to have a son serve in Italy and introduce us to a new way of cooking.  IT'S AWESOME!
Did I say cheap at times to...
Many know that for a very long time that I make up a calendar for the up coming month of the meals we will eat on which night.
For example:
Monday - Italian, Tuesday - Mexican, Wednesday - Soup/Salad/crockpot (depending on season), Thursday - casserole or a breakfast type meal, Friday - Bryant/Jacob cook and Saturday is usually a very easy or grill day.  Then I have our Sunday meals that get rotated - Ham, Chicken, Roast...unless there is a special occasion (like yesterday).
Sometimes I get in a rut and tell the boys I need 4 meals and they get to go through and see if I have their favorite.  This year we are adding a new recipe each month, which is both good and bad.
So tonight, is Spaghetti....not just any Spaghetti...but Spaghetti with homemade Ragu...
YUM!~
P.S. We will add more varieties when the younger boys return from their missions and see what they ate wherever they get to serve.

What a great idea! I love your rotation and thought process. I'm going to do the same!

Great idea! I'm sure each of your boys will find a recipe they can bring to the table (ha ha). I wish I had thought to get some recipes from the members I ate with when I served my mission--though food wasn't a lot different in the midwest than it is here.
