The Pre Competition #1 - Timpview High School

Charlie has begun his competitions in Ballroom.  He has 2 little ones before the big Dancesport at BYU.  Bryant took Mariah (he kinda likes her :P ) and I went down to watch it.  We did think it was at Timp High School, but thankfully found where it was really at.  Charlie has the same partner for Smooth but has changed partners for Standard.  The difference in the two...Smooth is like a Fred and Ginger type and Standard doesn't show their personalities as much...I think...I am still learning on the difference.  He has stopped competing in Latin which saddens me, but I'm told he will pick it up again either in the Spring or next fall...

The judges weren't always together with their thoughts and sometimes it was quiet dangerous with how many couples they put on the floor to cut the time in half.  Crazy!  Anyways, I have some video's if you would like to watch them.  Go to http://www.youtube.com/user/dramaroost and you will find the 2011 Timpview Dances there.  The only ones I haven't labeled are the finals for Smooth.

Charlie and Katie (Smooth) received 4th place in the Pre-Champ competition. Then Charlie and Gioia (Standard) received 5th place in Amateur.  What's the difference with those...here's the just.  From bottom to top: Novice, Pre-Champ then Amateur.  So I think for doing new routines, they did fantastic.  This weeks competition is at Hilcrest High School and Doug will be going to watch...then on to Dancesport!
