YW Activity

The Laurels have been wanting to make new quote books. So I asked my creative sister who is a scrapbook genius, and she showed me this. I guess they made it in her RS, except hers is a little different then a quote book. It's a thought book actually. There is a beautiful quote inside from Elder Eyring (is he an elder?)..that talks about reflecting at our daily activities and see if the Hand of God helped in anyway and to right that down. Then there was also a quote from Pres. Kimball about keeping journals, which is I know, not an easy thing to do. So...for YW's, I bought little books, got out all my scrapin stuff (I only have stuff through this sister of mine :} ) and then copied the quote down. I asked the girls if they could post the quote on the inside, and then whatever they decided to use the books for; quotes, journal, reflecting on your blessings that day...They were all very creative in designing the outside covers.
You may ask, why is she telling me this...well, you see, my sister said it was okay to read hers...since I was borrowing it...so I did. Wow! She is a spiritual giant. Everyday she wrote, was a possitive entry about the blessings, or something positive that happened, or feelings about the temple. It was interesting as I came across her last entry...Sept. 8, 2008..Oh, do I know that month! But this entry was about me....
You see last September, Doug and Bry were here in Utah and I had Josh and Jacob while trying to sell our home. Josh wasn't happy and I got beat-up (alittle) through his frustrations of missing his dad/brother...etc. It was hard to wake up everday...Jacob saw things that made him grow up (a little to fast, I think)...I had a Mom and a sister who made a point of calling me to make sure I was alright. So as I read this entry, it touched my heart, knowing there was so many prayers in our behalf and that I really wasn't alone during this trial part of life.
Funny how we are back in September...Josh is sick again...same time as last year...cranky...but not nearly as violent! Yes, I still jump sometimes when he yells...just a reflex that I need to get over...but our family is together, our home is in order, and we are blessed to have family/friends prayers in our behalfs.
So my entry in my book, "Today I was blessed to have guardian angles watching over us. Heavenly Father answered my prayers and helped Josh sleep past 1:00 am. He also heard my plea, to help find Josh's glass lens that was hiding in his sheets. Josh is also calming down thanks to doctors that listen to a mothers concern."
