We got Talent!

Okay, I know I've explained how Utah works with Solo n' Ensemble.  Definitely different in my day and in Colorado.  But, that's Utah for ya!
First..you sing a song for your director.  If he scores you a 1 (which is the highest) you move on to regionals
Second...then you sing for 2 judges at a certain high school and they score you.  If you score a 1 you move on to state.
Now, last year Bryant received a 1- in regionals, which is still wonderful but no moving on to state.
Also, rumor had it that if you made it to state you were automatically in the "Elite" choir...Madrigals!
Ya, that's a rumor and only a rumor...let's just leave it at that!  (sour grapes)
Back to the story....
Well, this year Bryant received a 1 at regionals.  This past Saturday, Charlie and his friend Erik (who plays marvelous!  Thank you!!!!) Bryant and I drove up to North Ridge High...about 45 minutes away.  There other vocalist, pianist, instrumentalist were all awaiting to be judged and get that score of a 1.
The judges were running behind, so 30 minutes after Bryant's time he sang.
Interruption of story....
On Thursday, Bryant learned he was one of the few that didn't make Madrigals, that most of the male individuals didn't make it to state...blah, blah, blah.
So with Charlie, Erik, Dad and I all cheering Bryant to just "stick it to them"
back to story....
HE DID!
Words can not describe it.
Yes, when it ended this mother knew he had given his all with tears flowing of joy!
Well, they had a website where all the scores were being posted and since Bry was bittersweet with those from his school that were there, we left.
Around 6 p.m. I decided to check out the site just to see if scores were posted.
I was a little worried to see that not many from WJ were getting 1's but they were getting 1-'s, 2's, 2+'s...oh dear.
Then I found Bryant's score.
The house roared with delight.
score......    1
Out of all the males solos that competed from his school, 3 received a perfect score...Bryant was one of them.
That's what I'm talkin' about!
