24 years ago today...it all happened!

At 5:45 p.m. is when my husband asked me to marry him...TODAY!
Well....24 years ago...WOW!
He is a little trickster that is for sure because...
Well...here is the short version:
Let's just say I wasn't to happy with him and on the verge of calling it all off.
My mom knew how mad I was and suggested that I take a nap to calm down..it was Sunday.
(I had a pretty good temper back then...hahah!)
The next thing I know, my mom is waking me up telling me that Doug was in front.
Still fuming...I went to the front and he asked if we could take a ride...boy, I really thought he was going to call it off first, no way...I wanted to be the one to break his heart! (I know...very mean)
So I got my heels (we still wore dresses all day back then) and slid them on with no hose (unthinkable to wear heels with no hose...back then.)
We started driving around in silence, he showed me different places that were of importance.
Low and behold we ended up at the temple.  This is where he mentioned that both our parents were married here.
DUH!
So we got out and walked around.
We were sitting on the bench outside in front of the AZ temple when a friend of his showed up.  This made me get back into my "mood".
After she left, Doug apologized and continued to hold my hand...then...
He got down on one knee and asked, "What would you do if I asked you to marry me?"
I replied, "I would ask if you were joking..."
His response..."Well..."
Mine...."What"
Doug, " Will you marry me"
"Um...(giggling....) yes..."
There you have it folks...
I think the hard part was asking my father, knowing he is a tough cowboy...but with a marshmallow heart.
Even with all the mountains we've had to climb...thanks for asking me to be your eternal companion!
