"Smalls"

I looked over my blog and wondered...where is anything about Jacob? Sometimes, he goes unnoticed because at this point in his life his challenges are minimal, school work isn't that difficult, and he's been short all his life, so that's nothing new to complain about.

In the area the districts do an Art project that students can submit and win prizes or awards for. The category's are all sorts...picture taking, poems, stories, songs,...you get the picture. If any of you know Jacob, he is quiet the dramatic one more so then his brothers and his imagination has always been awesome. So Doug and I thought maybe this year he would enter.

The theme is/was "Beauty is..." We thougth he could take a picture of the dogs, or write a short poem, or a story. Jacob still couldn't decide. Then when he did, the deadline was right around the corner. He started this story...but felt it wouldn't be up to "his" standards by the deadline..so he told me about it. (it was a secret up until yesterday)..

He was writing about Me...yes, the tears did flow and I was a proud mom. The reason he told me about it was he didn't think he could finish it and type it all nice by Friday when the deadline for his school is. Jacob asked if he could read it to me, and I said that once he finished it, I would be honored to read it not matter if it made the deadline or not. So I gave him the suggestion that maybe he could finish it and put it in a frame of some sort and give it to me for Christmas. We both hugged. All is well....
