Night in the ER
Parents can be dumb sometimes. Last night was one of those costly dumb experiences. I had given Josh his nightly medicine since it was bed time. He was "trying" to help me put my earrings away and I had asked Doug to come and get him ready for bed. Doug thought I meant to give him meds and change him, so here we go with dose 2 of his night meds....When I heard Josh burp (good thing he does that) I immediately got upset and told Doug I had already given him the nightly meds...oops...Doug felt terrible and immediately took action. He gave him epitat (can't spell that word) and took him to the Docs on Call which they told him to take Josh to the ER. The ER nurse called and asked for all the meds Josh is on (Doug had taken the nightly ones) and asked why Josh was on this coctail of medicine...so I told him his disabilites. About 2 hours later I get a phone call from Doug saying everything was fine and they were on their way home after getting Bry from his night with the girls. Doug said that the doctor thought Josh did this as a suicide attempt.. RIGHT!!! Evidently some people in the medical field jumped to the wrong conclusion before checking all the facts!...I mean seriously, couldn't he see Josh's pull-ups? UGH! So Doug gently explained that it was his fault and Josh isn't in control of his medicine....JOY!

Wow, that's really awful the Dr. would just assume it was suicide...seriously, don't they get paid to research BEFORE diagnosing? Sheesh.
Not really the night you were looking forward too. Way to go, Doug for your patience with the Doctor.

What a horrible thing to have to go through! How did Josh handle it?
I agree that some doctors are just too "programmed" for anyones good.
I am glad things worked out well for everyone.
