Alright, so we thought since we are messing with everyone's traditions by staying on this side of the snow to start some traditions the boys might be missing out on...So Doug and I decided that the boys really haven't enjoyed the Mexican Dinner that Doug's family puts on...Alright, I really didn't know how to make tamales or what it really takes to do so....We bought the ingredients, asked for some recipes that family had used or uses....and called Mom Roberts alot! I don't taste what I'm cooking...weird that way and I also hate getting my hands into my food...I know more weirdness...I picked apart the meat (gross), mixed alot of masa ( more grossness) and then turned the steaming over to Doug. He did the tasting and said the only thing he would change is add more sauce to the meat...so...I think...not bad for a first timer....the question will now be.....will we do this again?.....it's on the maybe list...but Doug and I definately had a fun time making them....and we made 4 1/2 dozen!!!

che sciffo!! comunque, voi avete detto che era bounissimo ... quindi ... quando io sarĂ² la, lo dovete cucinare
If I had to get my hands into the masa like that I don't think I would like the tamales as much as I do. Next time try a mixer/Bosch/KitchenAid/etc. It will take less time and won't be so gross.
So I think a new Christmas tradition would be to ship them to Vermont as well....what do you think?? Love ya!
