Bryant isn't to happy about life right now. Knowing Lacrosse might be over...possibly! That's right, he has a walking boot on his leg.
Story time:
So last Monday Bryant's Lacrosse team began conditioning for spring season. They aren't allowed to take their sticks out until Feb, so they go up to the Olympic oval and condition. This usually means a lot of running. Monday when he got home he said both ankles were hurting. But we all thought it was because he hadn't done that type of conditioning for a while. Wednesday came and by the time he got home, the coach had told him to ice the ankles and wrap them and skip conditioning on Friday. Well, Bryant text me and said his left ankles was killing him at school. So I called for an appointment. Of course we never get to see our real doctor. So I picked Bry up...
(long turned into shorter version)
2 1/2 hours later (Josh is home sleeping) I go and pick Bryant up and the doctor explains what's going on.
Here it is:
His right ankle has some brushing around the ankle and all the muscles...ice, take Ibuprofen!
The left ankle a little more serious. He has severe tendinitis which the doctor has never seen before in a 17 year old (leave it to my son to be the first!) and evidently some time last fall (when Bry was playing fall ball) he was hit and fractured the small bone behind his ankle. We never knew this. So now a cyst is growing there to try and heal the break causing a stress fracture that will not heal unless we have surgery to remove the cyst.
Thus, the boot. We should hear the early part of this week what our next step is. 95% sure, it will be remove the cyst, cast the foot, no Lacrosse for a while. So Bryant is side lined!
That would be why this picture looks soooo happy!
P.S. We did however go 6 weeks without seeing a doctor...that's pretty good!

Bryant,
WHAT A BUMMER!!!!! It is not the end of the world, yet! But we do send our symphathy to you. Sometimes the Lord wants us to go in a different direction than we are going and He knows how to get our attention - for real!!! Try to make the best of things and know that we love you and will be praying for you and for the best thing to be done so you have no further problems with either ankle.
What a challenge!! My recommendation is that you make the best of it and find something that is exciting and beneficial to do that doesn't require so much footwork. Maybe you could become a great writer by writing the "history of the doctors" is comic form. Or you could take up dutchoven cooking and have a ball at cookoffs - but that doesn't pay - and it does cost a bit to assemble all the food, etc. However, I know someone who would sponsor you as a dutchoven cook!!! Just remember how much you are loved - especially by your fantastic Mom.
